24 mi night run - 3:19:52 - 8:19 pace
only used about 55oz of water and accelerade, and 4 granola bars and mainly stayed below lactate threshold.. felt very comfortable and I think I went under 8 for a bit at the start and was fine. Asics Kayano size 10.5 worked great.. One downside was I did 10 chin-ups at mile 7 or so, and my upper back has been in knots ever since partly due to that and the camelback. I need to find a way to get that straightened out, because everything else was relatively perfect.. somewhat sore kneees, but nothing as bad as the back.. Also I did a bit of sleep running and it helped out a bit for the return to be somewhat rested. It's a crazy feeling running with just a small slit of light coming through your eyes and your brain pretty much off.. you feel almost like you're on a really soothing car ride and your body's on autopilot just barely awake enough to notice large objects (i almost ran into a dark couple smooching on the bike path).. The other good part was there was no major stopwatch stopping.. everything was drank, eaten, pee'd out on the run. Overall a very good run. Next week I should be good for 28+ and I think I'm definitely going to tone down the pace.
